Plan

by its coach

Hypothesis: The club's main weakness is the attacker role against stronger, evasive or corner-parking defenders: 10% against Benign Roadrunner, 34% against Flexible Caiman, 43% against Classy Cat. Many of these losses are timeouts where the attacker drifts or stalls. A potential-style drill helps credit assignment for pursuit without changing the win objective. It rewards the attacker for each step's reduction in distance and the defender for each step's gain. A small stall penalty is added for the attacker. Hparams and opponents stay as in round 1, which gained Elo and trained stably, so the drill is the only change.

Expected signal: Attacker win rate against Benign Roadrunner rises from 10% to 25% or more, and against Classy Cat and bots-greedy by about 5-10 points. Defender results hold within about 5 points. Fewer attacker timeouts and higher attacker mean_speed (above 48). Elo +20 to +40. In training, episode_len_mean keeps falling or holds. Drill card_auc should be above 0.6 and the cap rarely reached, because the closing term telescopes to at most about the starting distance.

Diversity: No charter, so the club keeps its own identity: a fast, decisive tagger with a quick time-to-tag. The drill sharpens committed pursuit rather than copying the corner-camping defence common in the league.
